That Filthy BookWith a name like That Filthy Book, this naughty read immediately intrigued me, not least because one of the authors, Lily Harlem, is a favourite of mine.

The novel is about a married couple, Karen and Jacob, who, although they still love each other deeply, have fallen into the trap of routine and ruts. When they go away for their wedding anniversary – leaving their children in the care of their grandparents – Karen is determined to do something to shake things up and make sure she and Jacob have the wild and adventurous sex life they enjoyed years ago. She’s helped along by a series of fantasies she discovered in a dirty book she read many years ago. She thought she’d forgotten all about the contents – ones she believed were so filthy and depraved that she hid the book after reading it – but apparently they were imprinted into her subconscious and are now spilling back and fuelling a seriously sexy time with her loving husband.

Luckily, Jacob is incredibly happy to explore the kinky new side of Karen, and he even reveals a few filthy fantasies of his own along the way. The two of them enjoy the basest of kinks, and grow even closer as they’re reminded of what they once had and what will keep them screaming with pleasure together for many years to come.

I really enjoyed That Filthy Book. Yes, it’s incredibly kinky, dirty and totally lives up to its name. But it’s much more than that too – fabulously well written, engaging and heartwarming. Yes, heartwarming! What I loved most about this was the fact that all the erotic exploration was done by a loving married couple with normal lives. There’s some seriously edgy stuff in here, but it’s handled in a sensitive and sane manner and is all part of enhancing the sex life and emotional connection of a couple who have forgotten how to just be ‘them’ instead of parents, colleagues, friends, etc. So if you’re looking for a smokin’ hot read with lashings of romance and a beautiful relationship, then you should definitely check out That Filthy Book.
