With This Collar is the first book in the Mastered series, and based on this one, I’m very much looking forward to reading the rest. This book tells the story of Julia Lyle, a woman who has had lacklustre relationships and sex, and knows very little of BDSM until she attends her best friend’s wedding. There, as well as a more traditional exchange of rings, Lana and her husband also take part in a collaring ceremony. Julia is absolutely stunned, and can’t understand why her friend would get married and turn herself into a doormat. She starts to protest, but is stopped by another guest, who insists she doesn’t understand what she’s seeing, and eventually offers to fill her in.

Julia is reluctant at first, but then agrees to a single night with Marcus – an experienced Dom – just so she can understand the decision her best friend has made. He quickly sends Julia on a journey in submission, convinced that once she’s had a taste, she will realise she’s actually a natural submissive and will want to adopt the lifestyle more permanently.

With This Collar was a great read. Fascinating from the very first through to the last page, we follow Julia’s kinky adventure with Master Marcus, from the spankings, to the kneeling, to the satisfying ending (which I won’t spoil). This is a well-written, extremely hot insight into the world of BDSM, with characters that are both believable and likeable. I definitely recommend this to fans of BDSM erotic romance.
